- Chicken: While I opted for boneless skinless chicken breasts, you can use boneless skinless chicken thighs or even chicken tenders if desired. If changing the cut of chicken, you may need to change the cook time.
- Flour: all purpose flour
- Herbs and spices: salt, black pepper, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and freshly chopped parsley
- Cooking oil: I use olive oil but any oil will work.
- Butter: Either salted or unsalted works here.
- Garlic: Fresh minced is always preferred.
- Chicken broth: low sodium chicken broth
- Heavy cream: This can be substituted for whole milk for a thinner sauce.

- Step 1: Use a sharp knife to fillet your chicken breasts on a cutting board into two thinner slices.
- Step 2: When cutting your boneless chicken breasts, try to make them even thickness and lay them on the cutting board when cut.
- Step 3: Cover each piece of chicken with a piece of plastic wrap and use a meat mallet to pound out the chicken until each piece is roughly ½ inch thick.
- Step 4: Rub both sides of the chicken with flour, salt, and pepper.

- Step 5: Rub both sides of the chicken with flour, salt, and pepper.
- Step 6: Add a little oil to your large skillet and sear chicken on both sides to keep the juices in before removing from the pan.
- Step 7: Next, melt butter and add the garlic to the pan. Use a wooden spoon to scrape the browned bits of chicken leftover and garlic to get all the yummy flavor.
- Step 8: Then add the flour into the pan and stir.

Recipe Tips
- When storing leftovers, add any extra sauce that you may have to your airtight container so it doesn't dry out when reheating.
- Always use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature of your chicken reaches 165F before consuming.
- Don't skip the pounding process, it really makes your chicken nice and tender and helps it cook evenly..
- Be sure to scrape the skillet well to get any of the brown bits to bring as much flavor to your sauce as possible.
