Why Should I Use The Air Fryer To Roast Garlic?

Not only is this recipe super simple to follow, but using the Air Fryer is a cheaper way to roastraw garlicwhen compared to the oven. According toNasdaq, using your Air Fryer uses about half as much energy as using your oven costs less than running your oven. Plus, it's a lot faster to makeroasted garlic clovesin the Air Fryer than the oven.

It's especially great when you don't feel like heating the whole house in the summer to roast agarlic head, but still want to useroasted clovesin a recipe later in the day.

  • Heads of garlic: Make a bunch to keep in the refrigerator.
  • Olive oil: I like to useextra virgin olive oil, but I suppose other cooking oils likeavocado oilwill work.

  • Step 1: Using asharp knife, cut off the tops of eachgarlic headto expose the tops of theindividual clovesinside.
  • Step 2: Place garlic heads on a piece ofaluminum foilwith theexposed clovesup.

  • Step 3: Drizzle oil overtop of the garlic bulband sprinkle each head with salt and pepper.
  • Step 4: Wrap the garlic heads with the foil and place in the basket of the Air Fryer and fry until tender.

  • When picking your garlic bulbs at the store, squeeze them a bit. You want it to be firm, with strongindividual garlic clovesinside- not empty, like they're starting to dry out.

Ingredients

  • 3 heads of garlic
  • 3 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees

  • Cut off the tops of the garlic heads to expose the top of the cloves inside.

  • Place the heads on top of a piece of aluminum foil drizzle 1 teaspoon of olive oil on top of each garlic head and sprinkle evenly the salt and pepper on top.

  • Wrap the foil around the garlic heads.

  • Air fry for 30 minutes

  • Carefully unwrap the foil and check wo see if the garlic is tender by poking it with a fork.

  • If it’s not tender wrap it back up and let it fry another 5 minutes.

  • Remove the foil from the fryer and let it cool 10 minutes. Then squeeze the garlic head from thew bottom until the garlic comes out.

  • Use immediately or store in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Notes

This recipe can be easily doubled or tripled then you can store in an airtight container covered with olive oil until and place in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Oven directions: Place the wrapped garlic in a 375 degree oven for 40-45 minutes.
